Follow these simple tips to get your Samsung dryer working properly:

Make sure there are no hard objects inside the dryer drum

If your Samsung dryer is making thumping noise which occurs while the dryer is spinning, it is most likely caused by some hard objects such as zippers, snaps, buttons, coins inside dryer drum. It is recommended to turn items out before drying.

Check if the dryer is leveled

If your Samsung dryer is making rattling noise, verify it is level using a carpenter’s level. If it is unleveled, adjust the dryer’s feet. Also, make sure the dryer is standing on a solid, secure floor and nothing is leaning against it.

Stretched drive belt

The drive belt is a long, narrow band, which is responsible for turning the drum while the drive motor is turning. Unfortunately, it can wear out over time. When the drive belt is stretched, it can cause the dryer to make a loud banging noise. You can inspect the drive belt for signs of wear. If the drive belt is frayed, it should be replaced.

Worn out drum rollers

The drum rollers support the dryer drum in place as it turns. Most Samsung dryers have 2 support rollers on the rear of the drum, and only some of them have 2 more on the front of the drum. When the drum rollers are worn out, they can cause the dryer to make a loud squealing noise. You can inspect the drum rollers for signs of wear out. Remove the belt from the dryer and try to turn the drum by hand. If the rollers do not spin freely or wobble, they should be replaced.

Loose blower wheel

The blower wheel is used to draw the air from the heating chamber, through the drum and out the exhaust vent. It is usually made of plastic and can wear out over time. If the blower wheel becomes loose, it can cause the dryer to make a loud roaring noise. You can inspect the blower wheel housing for any debris that might be interfering with the movement of the wheel. If the blower wheel is worn, it should be replaced.

Defective drum bearing

The drum bearing supports the rear of the drum. It is usually located at the back of the dryer drum. Like any parts, the drum bearing wears out over time. When it is worn out, the dryer makes a scraping or squeaking noise. Do not lubricate the bearing! It may attract lint and speed up the wearing process. If the drum bearing is worn out, it should be replaced.

Bad idler pulley

The idler pulley provides tension on the drum belt not allowing it to fall off. It is located at the bottom of the dryer near to the drive motor. When the idler pulley is bad, dryer makes a squealing or a roaring noise. If the pulley does not roll freely when the belt is removed, it should be replaced.
